Renato Gandia, a former Alberta journalist, studied philosophy in the Philippines and theology in Edmonton, Alberta. Melding the worlds of thoughtful reflection and effective communication, he transitioned into a full-time corporate communications professional while fueling his passion for writing on a part-time basis.

A proud member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, Renato actively contributes to conversations surrounding inclusivity and diversity. His journey showcases a harmonious blend of explorations, journalistic roots, a commitment to fostering understanding, and an unwavering passion for experiencing the world through the art of photography and the joy of travel.

His most recent work “Tubigan, tumbang preso, taguan, and other preludes to a trauma,” has been anthologized in "Magdaragat: An Anthology of Filipino-Canadian Writing." He’s currently working on a memoir of a gay Filipino wannabe Catholic priest. He currently resides in Calgary, Alberta.
